When can I start sleep training?
Once all foundations are in place, you can start sleep training/teaching/coaching after 4 months of age (adjusted - from due date).
When should I stop swaddling my baby?
As soon as they start to show signs of rolling, or as early as 8 weeks - whichever is earliest.
My newborn won’t nap longer than 35 – 45 minutes... why?
Ah, the dreaded short naps. This is developmentally normal and common! Newborns sleep cycles are usually 30 – 45 minutes long and they often need help connecting those sleep cycles. Hold them, baby wear, or go for a walk to see if you can extend that nap. If you’re still struggling — reach out and I’d love to help.
When can I expect my baby to sleep through the night?
This is different for each baby. There is no one-size-fits-all answer. However, we can implement healthy sleep habits to encourage this!
Do we have to use the cry-it-out method?
Nope. Once we receive your detailed questionnaire and we discuss the next steps, we can find a method that you are comfortable with.
Can I continue to breastfeed/bottle feed at night and still sleep train?
Yes! We will work together and implement set feeding times throughout the night.
Do I have to follow a set schedule after my baby is sleep trained?
It’s all about having a routine & not a set schedule. That is why we recommend being flexible 20% of the time and staying on track 80% of the time.
What are awake windows?
Awake windows are the periods of awake time in between sleep periods. They start at the end of one nap to the beginning of another.
Do I need to sleep train?
If your child’s sleep is not an issue for you – then there is no need to change it! But, if you are looking to make a change, please reach out as we would be happy to help.
